TOWN BOARD Meeting Minutes

Marion Municipal Room

Thursday, December 30, 2024

A Town Board meeting of the Town of Marion, Wayne County, NY was held on Monday, December 30, 2024 at the Marion Town Park.

Supervisor Johnson called the meeting to order at 3pm and asked the Clerk of the Board to give a roll call.

Supervisor Johnson asked everyone to stand and give the Pledge of Allegiance.

Whereas, the Town of Marion, New York, would like to recognize Frederick Walker for his many years of service to the Town of Marion. Mr. Walker has been the chairman of the Marion Planning Board for many years and has exhibited extraordinary service.

Now, therefore, we the Town of Marion board members, by the authority vested in us, do hereby on behalf of the citizens of Marion, NY extend Congratulations and Best Wishes to you, Frederick Walker on your retirement from the Town of Marion Planning Board.

In recognition of your outstanding service, we hereby cause the Seal of Marion to be affixed this 30th day of December 2024.

On a motion by Councilwoman Herman and seconded by Councilman Lonneville

The following resolution was approved.

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board Authorize the Supervisor to sign and submit Addendum No. 1 to the 2020 Amended and Restricted Regional Water Storage System Improvement and Services Agreement, otherwise known as the 2020 A7R IMA; and

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board directs the Clerk of the Board to give a copy of this resolution to the Supervisor.

Resolution #12092024 Authorize Appointment of Daniel Brooks to Chairman of the Marion Planning Board

On a motion by Councilman Cramer and seconded by Councilwoman Taber

ADOPTED: Ayes: 5 Herman, Lonneville, Taber, Cramer, Johnson

The following resolution was approved.

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board appoints Daniel Brooks, 3552 Ball Road, Marion, to the Chairman of the Marion Planning Board effective January 1, 2025, thru December 31, 2026; and

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board directs the Clerk of the Board to give a copy of this resolution to Daniel Brooks, Adrienne Compton, and the Principal Account Clerk.

Resolution #12102024 Authorize Principal Account Clerk to Make any Necessary Adjusting and Budgetary Journal Entries to Close the 2024 Fiscal Year

On a motion by Councilman Lonneville and seconded by Councilman Cramer

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board authorizes the following the Principal Account Clerk to make any necessary adjusting and budgetary journal entries to close the 2024 fiscal year; and

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board directs the Clerk of the Board to give a copy of this resolution to the Principal Account Clerk.

Citizen Comments:

Barb Schoonerman spoke regarding the Marion Parks & Recreation Advisory Committee.

Councilwoman Taber spoke and thanked the Parks & Recreation Advisory Committee.

Councilman Cramer thanked the Town Employees for their continued hard work.

Councilman Lonneville also wanted to acknowledge the staff and their good work.

With no further business, on a motion by Councilwoman Herman and seconded by Councilman Cramer, Supervisor Johnson closed the meeting at 3:35pm.
