Pledge of Allegiance

 The Marion Town Board will allow residents who would like to speak for 3 minutes each with a maximum of 15 minutes of the meeting devoted to citizens’ comments.  There will be time allocated at both the beginning and the end of the meeting.

Whereas, it has been brought to the attention of the Town of Marion, New York, that Zach Kuelling, a senior at Marion High School, exhibits extraordinary athletic abilities in wrestling, which have earned him recognition and elite awards.

Whereas as a member of the Marion / Williamson Wrestling team from the winter season of 2024/25 to 2025/26, he has earned the following awards:

            2025 NYS Qualifier Champion 1st place

            2025 Eastern States 8th place

            2025  Section V – Champion 1st place

            2025  NYS Championships – 4th place

            2026  Southern Tier Tournament 4th place

            2026  NYS Qualifier Champion 1st place

            2026   Section V – Champion 1st place

            2026 NYS Champion 1st place for Weight Class 285lbs.

Now, therefore, we the Town of Marion board members, by the authority vested in us, do hereby on behalf of the citizens of Marion, NY extend Congratulations and Best Wishes to you, Zach Kuelling, for exceeding the standards.

In recognition of your outstanding athleticism and resulting recognition to the community, we hereby cause the Seal of Marion to be affixed this 9th day of March, 2026.

 Resolution #2 Authorize Hiring Matthew Wilder for the Position of Part-time Parks & Recreation Director

 BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board authorizes hiring Matthew Wilder of E. Townline Road, Williamson, NY for the position of Parks & Recreation Director at a renumeration of $15,000 per Town of Marion budget for 2026 to be expensed from account # 73101.01.0.261; and. 

 BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board directs the Clerk of the Board to give a copy of this resolution to Matthew Wilder and the Principal Account Clerk.

 Resolution #3 Authorize Appointing John Cornell to the Marion Zoning Board of Appeals as Alternate

 BE IT RESOLVED, that the stipend for the position is $45 per meeting and $40 per workshop for 2026 to be expensed from account # 80104.01.0.103; and

 BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board directs the Clerk of the Board to give a copy of this resolution to John Cornell and the Principal Account Clerk.

 Resolution #4 Authorize Appointing Roy Franks to the Marion Planning Board as Alternate

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board authorizes appointing Roy Franks of Ball Rd. Marion, NY to the Marion Planning Board as alternate for a term of office starting March 10, 2026 through December 31, 2030; and

 

BE IT RESOLVED, that the stipend for the position is $45 per meeting and $40 per workshop for 2026 to be expensed from account # 80201.01.0.110; and

 

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board directs the Clerk of the Board to give a copy of this resolution to Roy Franks and the Principal Account Clerk.

 

Resolution #5 Authorize the Supervisor to Sign the 2026 Contract with Wayne County Public Works – Snow & Ice

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board authorizes the Supervisor to sign the 2026 contract with Wayne County Public Works – Snow & Ice; and

 

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board directs the Clerk of the Board to give a copy of this resolution to the County of Wayne, Marion Highway Superintendent, and the Principal Account Clerk.
