TOWN BOARD MEETING MINUTES
Marion Court Room
Monday, March 9, 2026
A Town Board meeting of the Town of Marion, Wayne County, NY was held on
Monday, March 9, 2026 at the Marion Town Court Room.
Supervisor, Mike Cramer called the meeting to order at 6:30pm and asked the Clerk of the Board to give a roll call.

Supervisor Cramer asked everyone to stand and give the Pledge of Allegiance.
Acknowledgements: Proclamation for Zach Kuelling – Read by Supervisor Cramer at 7pm, presented to Zach Kuelling at 7:30pm at the end of the meeting due to a scheduling conflict.
Proclamation
Whereas, it has been brought to the attention of the Town of Marion, New York, that Zach Kuelling, a senior at Marion High School, exhibits extraordinary athletic abilities in wrestling, which have earned him recognition and elite awards.
Whereas as a member of the Marion / Williamson Wrestling team from the winter season of 2024/25 to 2025/26, he has earned the following awards:
2025 NYS Qualifier Champion 1st place
2025 Eastern States 8th place
2025 Section V – Champion 1st place
2025 NYS Championships – 4th place
2026 Southern Tier Tournament 4th place
2026 NYS Qualifier Champion 1st place
2026 Section V – Champion 1st place
2026 NYS Champion 1st place for Weight Class 285lbs.
Now, therefore, we the Town of Marion board members, by the authority vested in us, do hereby on behalf of the citizens of Marion, NY extend Congratulations and Best Wishes to you, Zach Kuelling, for exceeding the standards.
In recognition of your outstanding athleticism and resulting recognition to the community, we hereby cause the Seal of Marion to be affixed this 9th day of March, 2026.

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board directs the Clerk of the Board to give a copy of this resolution to Matthew Wilder and the Principal Account Clerk.
Resolution #303-2026 Authorize Appointing John Cornell to the Marion Zoning Board of Appeals as Alternate
On a motion by Councilwoman Herman and seconded by Councilman Lonneville

BE IT RESOLVED, that the stipend for the position is $45 per meeting and $40 per workshop for 2026 to be expensed from account # 80201.01.0.110; and
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board directs the Clerk of the Board to give a copy of this resolution to Roy Franks and the Principal Account Clerk.

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board authorizes the Supervisor to sign the 2026 contract with Wayne County Public Works – Snow & Ice; and
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board directs the Clerk of the Board to give a copy of this resolution to the County of Wayne, Marion Highway Superintendent, and the Principal Account Clerk.
Resolution #306-2026 Payment of Claims

Additional Resident Comments:
Executive Session: Executive Session: The Town Board went into executive session at 7:04pm to discuss matters relating to employment history of a particular person. The Executive Session closed at 7:20pm on a motion from Councilwoman Herman and seconded by Councilwoman Johnson.
The Town Board went back into session and congratulated Zach Kuelling.
With no further business, on a motion by Councilwoman Herman and seconded by Councilwoman Johnson, Supervisor Cramer closed the meeting at 7:31pm.
