TOWN BOARD MEETING MINUTES

Marion Court Room

Monday, January 12, 2026

  

A Town Board meeting of the Town of Marion, Wayne County, NY was held on

Monday, January 12, 2026 at the Marion Town Court Room.

 

Supervisor, Mike Cramer called the meeting to order at 6:30pm and asked the Clerk of the Board to give a roll call.

 

PRESENT:     Julie Herman, Councilwoman

                           Michael Cramer, Supervisor

 

ABSENT:       Margi Taber, Councilwoman

Supervisor Cramer asked everyone to stand and give the Pledge of Allegiance.

 

Public Hearing:    6:30pm – Highway Reserve Funds

The public hearing was opened by Supervisor Cramer who asked the Clerk of the Board to read the legal notice.  The legal notice was read, Supervisor Cramer then asked if anyone in the room had and questions or concerns three times.  No one came forward with comments or concerns, the public hearing was closed at 6:33pm.

Resolution #123-2026 Authorize Advertising for a Part-time Baseball/Softball/Fall ball Coordinator

On a motion by Councilwoman Johnson and seconded by Councilwoman Herman

 

ADOPTED:  Ayes: 4   Herman, Lonneville, Johnson, Cramer

     

                     Nays:  0

 

The following resolution was approved.

 

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board authorizes the Clerk of the Board to advertise for a part-time Baseball/Softball/Fall Ball coordinator; and

 

BE IT RESOLVED, the Marion Town Clerk’s Office will accept applications until filled; and

 

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board directs the Clerk of the Board to give a copy of this resolution to the Principal Account Clerk.

 

Resolution #124-2026 Authorize Advertising for a Part-time Soccer Coordinator

On a motion by Councilwoman Johnson and seconded by Councilwoman Herman

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board directs the Clerk of the Board to give a copy of this resolution to the Principal Account Clerk.

 

Resolution #127-2026 Authorize Supervisor to Sign Grant Application for Deputy Town Clerk

On a motion by Councilman Lonneville and seconded by Councilwoman Herman

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board authorizes Supervisor to sign NYSTCA Grant Application for Deputy Town Clerk; and

 

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board directs the Clerk of the Board to give a copy of this resolution to the Principal Account Clerk.

Resolution #128-2026 Authorize to Re-Appoint Melanie Rivera to the Marion Library Board of Trustees

 

On a motion by Councilman Lonneville and seconded by Councilwoman Herman

                     Nays:  0

 

The following resolution was approved.

 

 BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board re-appoints Melanie Rivera to the Marion Library Board of Trustees for a term of 1/1/2026 through 12/31/2029; and

 

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board directs the Clerk of the Board to give a copy of this resolution to the Melanie Rivera, Library Director, Tracy Whitney and Principal Account Clerk.

 

Resolution #129-2026 Authorize Cara Vanderbrook to Accept Adult Recreation Payments

On a motion by Councilman Lonneville and seconded by Councilwoman Johnson

 

ADOPTED:  Ayes: 4   Herman, Lonneville, Johnson, Cramer

     

                     Nays:  0

 

The following resolution was approved.

 

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board authorizes Cara Vanderbrook to accept Adult Recreation payments for the Town of Marion; and

 

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board directs the Clerk of the Board to give a copy of this resolution to the Principal Account Clerk.

 

 

Resolution #130-2026  Payment of Claims

 

On a motion by Councilwoman Herman and seconded by Councilman Lonneville

 

ADOPTED:  Ayes: 4   Herman, Lonneville, Johnson, Cramer

     

                     Nays:  0

 

The following resolution was approved.

 

WHEREAS, the Marion Town Board has received and audited the following claims; now

 

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Supervisor is hereby authorized to pay said claims upon receipt of the signed abstracts of audited claims from the Town Clerk.

 Executive Session:

The Town Board went into Executive Session on a motion from Councilwoman Herman and seconded by Councilwoman Johnson at 7:34pm to discuss employment history of a particular person.  The executive session was closed at 8:10pm on a motion from Councilwoman Herman and seconded by Councilwoman Johnson.

With no further business, on a motion by Councilwoman Herman and seconded by Councilman Lonneville, Supervisor Cramer closed the meeting at 8:11pm.
